Soundarya R Ashwin says that she is overwhelmed after winning the NDTV Indian of the Year award, which her father won twice, in 2007 and 2010. She also says that it was a blessing to work with her father and veterans like Shobhana and A R Rahman on her first project. On the subject of Rajinikanth jokes, she says that the jokes carry a certain respect for her father's larger-than-life persona and the family accepts them without qualms.
